Peru 2007
Inka Trail Hike, Day 3
Totals for Day 2
Time 9 hour day, including ruins and lunch stop, so probably 7ish hours hiking.
Ascent 1400 ft to first pass and then rolling hills staying within a few hundred feet until the downhill 'gringo killers'
Descent 4000 ft to camp
Rating: The first part was beautiful with rolling hills, steep drop-offs, lush plant life and sweeping views. The downhill 'Gringo Killers' though were the toughest of the trail. Painful on the legs and that last switchback set sucked (it would have been nice to know about that part)! Would we do this again? Absolutely!
